Eligible child care providers must be providing child care services in a residential setting and be self declared or licensed to qualify for the program through NDC.

USDA FoodCare logoThe USDA FoodCare Program (also known as the Child and Adult Care Food Program) is an extension of the national school lunch program. This federal food program was established in 1968 to provide funds for nutritious meals and snacks served to eligible children and adults enrolled for care at participating child care centers, child care homes, and adult day care centers. The USDA FoodCare Program also provides reimbursement for meals to children residing in emergency shelters and youth participating in after school programs.

The goal of the program is to provide nutritious meals to children, introduce them to a variety of foods, promote good eating habits, and provide opportunities for them to learn about food.
