Children’s Nutrition Activities
Good examples have twice the value of good advice when it comes to helping children learn to eat well! NDC assists child care providers in working with children to teach them about foods, nutrition, food safety, and eating well. Child Size Utensil Sets
NDC recognizes the importance of serving foods family style to children and is a strong advocate of “child care providers provide and children decide”. Each child care provider receives a child size pitcher and utensils that set the table for great eating! As one of our child care providers told us after implementing family style meal service, “whoever thought such a little change would make such a big difference – the kids in my care have learned to pass food, be polite with a please and thank you, eat so much better, and best of all waste less food”!

Nutrition Information
When children’s eating problems occur or you simply have a nutrition question, NDC’s licensed registered dietitian will assist NDC providers. With many years of clinical nutrition experience, her expertise can assist you in understanding children’s nutrition needs and referring child care providers to reliable nutrition information or services.

Lending Library
NDC’s lending library is available for NDC providers and may have just the book or resource you need. Filled with children’s stories, cookbooks, and resources galore, NDC providers can request to use the materials at no charge. The lending library also has Color Me Healthy curriculums, an award winning preschool curriculum that provides interactive learning activities on physical activity and healthy eating.
