Comments: I woke up to a cool morning for a change. In fact, today's high of 77 was a record for the lowest high temperature for this date. The wind was also perfect for a change. I was able to go in the 20s for a big portion of the trip. The road was really busy, but wasn't too bad until later. I had over 110 miles before 12:10 PM when I got a flat tire. I went to the side of the road and inspected the tire which looked like a couple of staples had punctured it. I put in a new tube and pumped up the tire as best as I could. For some reason, it didn't want to put as much air as was needed in the tire. I stopped by Wal-Mart to check for any supplies they might have that would help, but they didn't have much. I was able to ride despite a little low air pressure. The road got extremely busy near Houston and was really difficult since there was a detour in one portion. It took me about 20 miles just to get through Houston. The sidewalks were really rough and made the tire even worse. Finally, it was totally flat. I went through some areas with big cities, but didn't see any hotels until I got down the road over 15 miles later in Rosenberg. I may not get in any miles for a while since I will have to see where I can get the bike repaired. If it wasn't for the flat, I would have been able to go even further today. My average speed was over 18 MPH until I got the flat which decreased the speed to under 17. My hotel is really strange and doesn't even have a normal phone. At least they let me stay here. I tried another hotel called the Homer Norton Motel which kicked me out since I wasn't 21. I really get tired of that. I have no idea why they do that.
