I rode through some of the area in which the bush fire went through the night before.  At one time I even stopped along the route and noticed a little smoke billowing up from the ditch.  It startled me a little bit!  Today's ride went pretty well.  The weather wasn't too overly hot and I didn't have to ride through any rain today.  I stopped in Horsham to get something to eat at a McDonald's for breakfast.  Later I rode through the town of Dimboola, which I thought was kind of a neat area.  Then I went through a town called Nhill.  Shortly thereafter I went through the border of Victoria into South Australia.  It's kind of different....they have a half-hour time zone so I had to set my clock back.  Now I am 7 1/2 hours behind home (but a day ahead).  I called my parents tonight and they were really glad to hear from me!

This sign reminded me of my wife!
