Minot State University Offers Høstfest Elderhostel For RVers
For more information: Michelle Hessler, (701) 858-3822
This October for the first time during Høstfest, Minot State University would like to invite all RVers to a new and exciting Elderhostel.

RVers will participate in activities that will be offered on the Høstfest grounds and activities that will be held on the Minot State University campus.

Transportation will be provided to the university for activities.

Minot State University Center for Extended Learning has had extensive experience in providing workshops and seminars on various topics for over 35 years. Utilizing its staff as well as university faculty and other professionals, the center has been able to provide top quality educational programs for groups such as Elderhostel.

With over 15 years of experience with Elderhostel programs, Minot State promises to provide all participants with a hands-on adventure into Scandinavian traditions.

The Elderhostel will include an intense look at genealogy and how to track your Scandinavian ancestry. Participants will be given the opportunity for a hands-on computer session to assist with learning about their ancestors from a genealogy expert. This activity will also focus on the Norwegian people, and the history of how this population migrated to North Dakota and the Magic City area.

Portions of this program will be spent exploring the Høstfest and learning more about the culture through the booth displays and courses.

This program will also have a discussion of Scandinavian foods, with cooking lessons on their traditional meals and demonstrations.
