      Purpose of Support Group for Women who have Experienced Domestic Violence

      *To provide emotional support for women as they work through the effects of abuse
      *To encourage personal growth in all areas of life
      *To provide a comfortable atmosphere to develop relationships which are trusting and caring
      *To provide a safe place to talk about the abuse
      *To learn more about abuse and its affects on oneself and children witnessing abuse

      (THE WOMENS SUPPORT GROUP IS FACILITATED BY A LICENSED SOCIAL WORKER)

      1. to all the good times that i have longed for all these years and didn't get
      2. to relax and have fun in a non-abusive and non-destructive way
      3. to "mess up", to make mistakes, to "blow it"and to fall short of the mark
      4. to say no whenever i feel like something is not safe or i am not ready
      5. to end converstions with people who make me feel put down and humiliated
      6. to ALL my feelings
      7. to trust my feelings, my judgment, my hunches, my intuition
      8. to express ALL my feelings, my judgment, my hunches, my intuition
      9. to as much time as i need to experiment with this new information and these new ideas and to initiate changes in my life
