Services Provided By DVCC For Survivors' Of Sexual Assault · SAFE HOME: DVCC has a 24-hour emergency safe home for short-term stays. Clothing is also available. · 24 HOUR SEXUAL ASSAULT CRISIS LINE: Available to survivors, their families, and friends. · SEXUAL ASSAULT VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES: DVCC has trained staff and volunteer advocates who may accompany sexual assault survivors to the hospital, law enforcement, and if applicable, through court proceedings. Advocates provide emotional support to survivors in hospital emergency rooms. · SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS' SUPPORT GROUP: DVCC offers a confidential group which provides emotional support and education. · IDIVIDUAL SESSIONS: One on one sessions may be arranged. · COMMUNITY EDUCATION: DVCC offers domestic violence/sexual assault educational opportunities for schools, general public, professionals, clergy, civic groups, and many others.

What Can You Do If You Have Been Sexually Assaulted? · Go to a safe place. · Call a friend, family member, or the sexual assault crisis line for support. · Report the assault to law enforcement. · Seek medical help. Get an emergency medical exam for treatment of injuries, sexually transmitted diseases, and existing pregnancy. · If you bathe, change clothes, or otherwise clean up, you may destroy evidence that can be used to prosecute the perpetrator in the event you pursue criminal charges. · Seek counseling. Sexual assault can produce both short/long term emotional effects. |
