Champion Decal Co.
began in 1940 with original owner Max Gray. Rich Meyer bought the company
in 1963, moved it to Minot, where is has stayed since. Champ has always
been a very small, family business. We feel that this has the benefit
of personal pride in the final product for us, and the finest quality
decal made for you.
Let us Toot
Our Horn...
We are very proud of our decals, and our service.
- AUTHENTICITY
- We use actual railroad blueprints
for many of our decal sets. Along with prominent RR "guru's" and other
research information, you are assured the best, AUTHENTIC decals in
the business.
- DIGITAL ARTWORK
- We've kept up with technology!
Our decal artwork is created, fine-tuned and completed on computer,
then sent to our platemaking company via the internet. We have created
dozens and dozens of accurate digital fonts from actual railroad blueprints.
Champ was one of the first model railroad decal companies, and we are
still keeping in-step with new technology and future trends.
- QUALITY
- Our decals are the "happy-medium"
in the industry, not too thin, not too thick. Ultra thin decals tend
to fall apart easy, making it frustrating to use, and you can't hide
thick decals on your models. Champ Decals are hand made via the latest
state-of-the-art letterpress printing operation. Our printing plant
is located in the old Soo Line Passenger Depot Complex here in Minot.
- SHELF LIFE
- Because our decals are not
too thin, they will last for years. We often receive letters from modelers
who have found an old Champ decal set in their "drawer," some of them
up to 30 years old, and they worked perfectly. If you store your Champ
Decals properly, they will last for years, and it is not difficult to
store "properly."
- EXPERIENCE
- Champion Decal Company originally
started out as Champion Model Company, under the ownership of Max Gray
in 1940. Rich Meyer bought the decal business from him in 1963 and we
continue with it. With many years of decal experience, you can't go
wrong with Champ Decals.
