Remarks
Today started out good except for the little pain left again from the first day. I made it to Neillsville in good time thinking I could easily find a place to stay. The first place I checked was full so I tried another hotel which was about four miles out of town to the east. However, after making it there, the sign said, "No Vacancy." About all I could do was go to the only big town in that area which was Marshfield. However, this was about 25 miles away and the daylight was sinking fast. About five miles down the road, my back tire went flat. It always seems to be a big challenge to me to try to take off the tire and actually get it back on so that took some time. Eventually I got it changed again. Unfortunately, about five miles down the road again it went flat again. Again, it didn't hold up. I had no choice, but to bike the fifteen miles to Marshfield on the flat tire. It was dark by the time I got there, but I eventaully made it to the Comfort Inn which was $85. I needed to find a new tube desperately. Of course, you can't buy the tubes for my bike just anywhere which can be a BIG pain. You need to find a shop specifically designed for bikes. You can't just buy it at Target or Wal-Mart. I did go to Target and buy this tire sealant for bikes. Of course, it didn't work on my tire though. Finally I went to an Amoco and bought some patches with rubber cement. It seemed finally as though the tube was holding air. I don't know if it will continue though.
