ADULT DEEPER LIFE OPPORTUNITIES

Sunday Mornings -- 9:45 am -- Forum Room (Church Basement) -- These adult forums vary in topics and themes, and are offered during the academic year.

GIFTS (Growing In Faith Toward Service) -- Tuesdays at 4:00 pm -- Parish Center Conference Room -- September - May --This is a program of the ELCA Western ND Synod to help people who are interested in serving their congregation in more structured ways but do not feel the call to full time ministry. It equips people through Bible study and conversation to grow in faith.

Women's Lunch Time Bible Study -- Wednesdays at 11:00 am -- Parish Center Conference Room -- Bring a bag lunch and study with us! This group is led by Women's & Familiy Ministries Director Marcella Nelson.

Men's Breakfast Group
-- 7:00 - 8:30 pm -- 1st and 3rd Thursdays -- Charlie's Cafe in downtown Minot. Come when you can and leave when you have to for these gatherings. Open conversation, lots of laughs, just a time for men to gather and start the day well.

Thursday Mornings for Men Bible Study
-- 7:00 - 8:00 pm -- 2nd and 4th Thursdays -- September - May --in the Parish Center Conference Room. The Men's Bible Study Group invite all men to come for coffee, juice, and rolls at 7:00 am, the 2nd and 4th Thursday morning each month during the academic year. Pastor Ken Nelson will lead this group in study and conversations.

First Lutheran Church Women (FLCW) -- Women's Circle groups (there are nine) meet the first Thursday of the month (one group meets the second Tuesday each month), at various times to fit everyone's schedule. They use the Lutheran Women Today Bible study. Check the newsletter for times and places, or call the office for more information. There is also a general assembly, with varied topics, offered most months.

Search Bible Study
-- 9:30 am -- Fridays -- in the Parish Center Conference Room -- January - May - Join us in studying different books of the Bible in 8 week sessions. No previous study necessary and materials are provided. This group meets during the academic year. New members are encouraged to join at any time.


OUR MANY MINISTRIES


First Lutheran Church offers many different ministries and opportunities to become involved and meet people. Perhaps there is one that may interest you. Here are some of them:

Altar Guild -- Approximately 60 people, who each serve one month a year, provide the service needed for the sacraments and the chancel.

Camp Metigoshe -- A Bible camp of the western North Dakota ELCA Synod. This camp provides summer camping retreats and VBS day camps.

City and Country Health Clinic -- A free drop-in health clinic, here at First Lutheran Church, is held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday evenings, and 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Fridays. This clinic is for those who do not have any kind of health insurance or access to care through other health programs. Please call 833-1951 during clinic hours, leave a message.

Deaconess -- A group of 50 women who make calls to the bereaved, hospitals, nursing homes, and shut-ins.

FLCW -- The women of First Lutheran organized into nine different service circles, meeting at different times (to fit everyone's schedules) once a month. Also, a general assembly with varied topics are offered most months preceded by a short prayer service.

Foundation -- A board of First Lutheran Church members who receive funds to be endowed. The interest is used for ministerial and education purposes of the congregation and the Lutheran church. Scholoships are granted by the Foundation to all members of the congregation who go to a Lutheran seminary to be a pastor or missionary.

Global Missions -- We provide support for the missionary programs of the ELCA.

Luther's Kitchen -- A free lunch given on Fridays, from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. We also collect food and other items every June and December for distribution to the food pantries in Minot.

Prayer Chain -- A group of 60 people who systematically call each other in response to specific prayer requests.

Quilters -- A group of women who make 200+ quilts each year for local use and Lutheran World Relief.
